The '''False Desolation''' is an event, considered pseudohistorical by Vorinismthe [[Vorin]] church, was a conflict between [[singers]] and humans sometime during the millenia after the [[Last Desolation]].{{book ref|sa3|56}} It is likely whatthe conflict in which the [[Knights Radiant]] were fighting in at the time of the [[Recreance]], according to [[Jasnah Kholin]].{{book ref|sa3|56}} It resulted in the enslavement of singers as [[parshmen]].{{book ref|sa3|17}}

Previous Desolations[[Desolation]]s werebegan markedwith fromthe [[Herald]]s giving intoin to the torture in [[Damnation,]] and Returning to Roshar, andafter thenwhich the [[Fused]]--leaders of the [[Voidbringer]]s--ReturningReturnred as well, entering bodies of the singers.{{book ref|sa3|38}} However, the False Desolation occurred well after the Last Desolation, wherewhen the Heralds abandoned the [[Oathpact]]. Thus, and thus there were no Fused in this "Desolation." It's unclear how fighting between humans and singers progressed sincein the period following the Last Desolation, but it's is likely the two species warred.

The False Desolation startedcommenced in earnest when [[Ba-Ado-Mishram]], one of the nine [[Unmade]] andwho was sometimes referred to as a "highprincess" or commander of the Voidbringers and sometimes their commander,{{epigraph ref|sa3|106}} [[Connection|Connected]] with the singers in a manner similar to that of Odium during the Desolations.{{epigraph ref|sa3|80}} This allowed Ba-Ado-Mishram to provide [[Regal|forms of power]] to the singers, andas gavewell themas access to [[Voidlight]]. It is unclear how Ba-Ado-Mishram performed this feat, or why she could not do so sometime earlierprior betweento the LastFalse Desolation and then. The Radiants were confused as to Ba-Ado-Mishram's new Connection with the singers,{{epigraph ref|sa3|80}} which might suggest this was a new development in her abilities, and not ana ability shefeatshe could perform before. It also seems that she managed to Connect with the vast majority of singers, --all except those who would become the [[listener]]s.

This period of fighting wasbecame particularly intense at thisthat time.{{epigraph ref|sa2|41}} At some point, the singers pressed towards [[Feverstone Keep]], butthough the Radiants did not understand why the area interested the singers so much. Some speculated that it was been part of a plan to capture [[Rall Elorim]].{{epigraph ref|sa3|84}}

The Radiants eventually sought an edge in the conflict. Scholar Radiants teamed up to come up withconceive a plan to stop the Voidbringers.{{epigraph ref|sa3|78}} They theorized that an Unmade could, perhaps, be imprisoned like a regular spren.{{epigraph ref|sa3|79}} (It is unclear if this happened before or after [[Re-Shephir]]'s imprisonment in Urithiru by a Lightweaver.{{book ref|sa3|30}}) The Radiants devised a plan: they would imprison Ba-Ado-Mishram--stopping the singers' transformations and removing their access to Voidlight.{{epigraph ref|sa3|78}}

Fighting occurred near Feverstone Keep, and since that is the site of many Windrunners and Stonewards abandoning their oaths,{{book ref|sa2|52}}{{book ref|sa3|56}} it is possible that this issequence anotherof reasonevents forprecipitated the Recreance. It couldmay have been the final thing that made the Radiants feel they were on the wrong side. The Recreance certainly happened at the same time or directly after Ba-Ado-Mishram's imprisonment, which by itself caused massive chaos in human societies. [[Shardblade]]s were picked up at will, without the safeguards of the [[Nahel bond]] to prevent such utter destruction.

Because of this massive chaos, ordinary humans likely had no idea of the true reason for the singers' enslavement. ItThis event, as well as the singers being considered "Voidbringers" and "the enemy" in the eyes of the Radiants, faded into obscurity, and humans considered the parsh to justhave always bebeen these creatures who could not think. The singers ended up actingserved as slave labor for humans forover the next two thousand years.

When the singers wouldwere eventually belater healed in the [[Everstorm]], they arewere furious at humanity for this act of enslavement. For the common singer, this wasbecame a rallying cry that made them fight against humanity in the [[True Desolation]].

In modern times, the False Desolation was considered pseudohistorical butby [[Jasnahthe Kholin]]Vorin knewchurch, which asserted that no Voidbringers could have survived Aharietiam. Few details of the eventconcept were known to any besides scholars, such as [[Jasnah Kholin]].{{book ref|sa3|56}}
