The first two books of the 'Dragonsteel' series are ''[[The Liar of Partinel]]'' and ''[[The Lightweaver of Rens]]''. Hoid is slated to be a major character in the Dragonsteel series, and it will tell his backstory.{{qa ref|689|5|When will we hear Hoid's story?|date=Nov 8, 2011}} One reason Brandon has not prioritized this series is that he doesn't want readers to feel that they have to read his other books in order to understand what is happening, and he probably won't publish Hoid's story until it is relevant{{qa ref|689|6|Rewriting Dragonsteel|date=Nov 8, 2011}}
