Windrunning was a form of Surgebinding on Roshar.

The Windrunners were the name of an Order of Knights Radiant on Roshar.

They were Surgebinders, and used the two Surges of Gravitation and Atmospheric Pressure. The result was a power set that used Lashings. These powers were gained, presumably, by bonding with an honorspren. Kaladin is in the process of becoming a Windrunner[1]; also Szeth has the powers of a Windrunner, but is not a Windrunner himself[2].

I will protect those who cannot protect themselves.
