Sadeas is later at the same winehouse that [[Adolin]] and [[Shallan]] visit together.Whilst waiting out the [[highstorm]] in the safety of the [[lighteyes]] bunker Sadeas approaches [[Adolin]] and begins goading him about the [[Battle of the Tower]] and how he intends to do away with both [[Elhokar]] and [[Adolin]].Sadeas is wearing uncut gems along his clothes, from a [[gemheart]] he had won earlier on the [[Shattered Plains]] but which he had claimed to have lost.{{book ref|sa2|50}}
After [[Adolin]]s duel with the 4 [[Shardbearer]]s is won, Sadeas is forced to accept his boon of a challenge. However due to [[Kaladin]] interrupting, [[Adolin]] only gets to seek a challenge and not to pin down the time. As such, Sadeas takes the liberty of accepting to duel the young man a year after the date. He puts on an air of control and mirth after this, but in secret is terrified to see that [[Adolin]] is becoming another [[Dalinar|Blackthorn]].{{book ref|sa2|58}}
On the last day before the [[Weeping]] Sadeas and [[Ialai Sadeas|his wife]] are taking a ride, supposedly for pleasure but in fact to assuage the extent of [[Sebarial warcamp]]'s industry. [[Ialai Sadeas|Ialai]] believes they should seize the opportunity to attempt a coup on the [[Pinnacle]], but Sadeas mentions it won't be necessary, and also points out the failure of their last assassin. Surprisingly [[Dalinar]]'s call to the [[Shattered Plains#Warcamps|Alethi Warcamps]] is answered by Sadeas as quickly as it is by [[Aladar warcamp]] and [[Roion warcamp]].{{book ref|sa2|88}} Sadeas personally makes his way to [[Urithiru]] with [[Ialai Sadeas|his wife]]. They are exploring the large tower when [[Adolin]] comes upon Sadeas alone. Sadeas mentions to [[Adolin]] how he has already started planning the next round of rumours against [[Dalinar|his father]], using [[Rlain|a parshman]] being in his [[Bridge Four|personal guard]] as an explanation for how he managed to have the [[Parshendi]] co-operate with him and form a ruse (the [[Battle of Narak]]). [[Adolin]]'s anger at his constant attempt at vaingloriously undermining [[Dalinar]] turns violent, and he proceeds to stab his side-knife through the [[Highprince]]'s eye. [[Adolin]] takes his [[Shardblade]] and hides it, then proceeds to get rid of any other evidence that he had been there before proceeding to rejoin his scouting party.{{book ref|sa2|89}}
