*Brandon noted that the rise and fall of Ialai's mini-empire when she returned to the Shattered Plains could have been a major thread in a ''Stormlight Archive'' novel, but by the time it occurred in the overall story arc, he wanted to move on from the earlier group of antagonists that Ialai represented (and whom had already been defeated).
