Elend and Vin travel to the ball at [[Keep Orielle]], and Elend gives a card to a servant with their names and titles, and they are announced to the attendees. They split up to mingle before speaking directly with [[Yomen]]. Vin challenges one of the nobles, Lady [[Patresen]], by playing on the fears of her followers, then by warning that things won't go well for anyone who opposes them once they have taken the city.
