Vaceslv, being a part of the same squad as [[Kaladin]] was recruited to, knew Kaladin as a fellow soldier. Vaceslv and another member named [[Alaward]] tried multiple times to get Kaladin to play cards with them, though Kaladin declined, thinking of his experiences with [[Sah]] and the other [[Voidbringers]].{{book ref|sa3|73}} Vaceslv, after a [[Fused]] raid, is noted as having taken a gash to the chest.{{book ref|sa3|73}} He is also probably present when Highmarshall [[Azure]] reveals how she supplies food for the army.
