Spoiler Policy Reminder

Under our spoiler policy, any content from books that are not fully released is not allowed on the Coppermind. This includes any information from pre-released sample chapters, readings, and other comments Brandon has made about Stormlight 5. The only exception to this rule is on meta-pages for the books themselves (e.g., Wind and Truth). If you are unsure whether the information you want to add comes from pre-release content, please do not add it and instead ask about it on our Discord.

Thaylen script is an abjad, and thus does not write vowels, which reflects the Thaylen proclivity towards consonant clusters. The characters used in Thaylen script strongly resemble the basic form of Vorin glyphs, though use of bilateral symmetry is neglected. There are thirteen known letters in Thaylen script. As with women's script, Thaylen script is merely transliterated English, with vowel sounds ignored. Writing is usually oriented vertically, though the script is sometimes turned on its side and read left to right. Letters may be distorted slightly to make letters fit together, for aesthetics.
