Little is known about the history of the ''Whistlebow''. At some point, [[Charlie]] came into contact with [[Hoid]] while he was serving as the ship's cabin boy, before he joined the crew of the [[Crow's Song]].{{book ref|tress|13}}{{book ref|tress|4}} Charlie had Hoid deliver a beautiful, unchipped porcelain cup back to [[Tress]] aboard the ''Whistlebow''.{{book ref|tress|4}} This was the first of the four cups Charlie sent to Tress, however it is unknown which ships delivered the other three.{{book ref|tress|4}}
