She likes to quote someone called the Saint, though no one else knows who that is. It is later revealed that most of the Saint's "sayings" actually originated with Kimmalyn{{cite}}. Kimmalyn justifies a majority of her actions or choices with sayings by the Saint.{{book ref|sky1|19}} When Spensa suggested that Kimmalyn use the callsign Saint, she vehemently refused.{{book ref|sky1|9}}
