Circa {{Rosharan date\|1166\|2}}, Tenathar agreed to a dueling match with [[Adolin Kholin]], who was fifteen at the time. It is implied that Tenathar was the first ranked opponent that Adolin ever dueled, and Adolin considered the match his first step towards winning a [[Shardblade]]. Adolin eagerly sent his father [[Dalinar Kholin\|Dalinar]] a message to tell him the news of the bout, and then personally invited him to attend the match.{{book ref\|sa3\|88}} The outcome of the duel is unknown.
