As the Vessel of Odium, Taravangian confronted [[Hoid]], who expected to meet Rayse. Hoid noticed that something was amiss, and attempted to play it off so as not to make Taravangian suspicious. HeTaravangian saw through it, however, and wiped Hoid's short-term memory, then replayed the same conversation with him, slightly altering his dialogue so as not to set Hoid off.{{book ref|sa4|epilogue}}
