The squad was composed of [[darkeyes]], and fought using spears. Outside of battle, they also trained new soldiers, both with spear and with quarterstaff.{{book ref|sa1|27}}{{book ref|sa3|91}} Their training methods included
It was Kaladin's first unit upon joining, and it's there that he'd refined his natural talent with the spear into proper skill.{{book ref|sa1|27}} At some point, either most or all of them died, and Kaladin was transfered elsewhere, perhaps straight to leading [[Kaladin's squad|his own squad]].{{book ref|sa1|2}}
