Nightblood
Szeth is given a sword by Nale, which he calls "sword-nimi". This sword,
They have conversations often and Nightblood knows a good deal of information about Szeth's past.
Szeth will partially draw the sword to see how other people react to it; the sword causes "good" people to feel sudden nausea.sa2.5
Szeth fully draws the sword twice. The first time he draws it is during a Skybreaker test administered by Ki at the Purelake. Szeth uses Nightblood to execute a corrupt nobleman. When he draws the sword, he immediately feels its power, his senses appear to heighten, and he feels incredible pain in his arms as the sword seems to infuse his body with black liquid.sa3 The nobleman disappears completely upon being stabbed and Szeth is able to sheath the sword before it overtakes him. He draws the sword again during the Battle of Thaylen Field as he tries to help Lift retrieve the King's Drop, effortlessly vaporizing large swaths of enemy fighters. One of the Fused is able to take the sword's sheath and block a strike with it, leaving Szeth holding it until it nearly kills both him and Lift.sa3 They are saved when Dalinar Kholin creates a perpendicularity that douses the area in Stormlight, satiating Nightblood and allowing Szeth to retrieve the sheath.sa3
