;Plot Summary
Shallan has ordered her guards to look for violence that has been repeated. A couple days ago somebody was hanged. The murder is repeated. Shallan chases after the killer. She discovers a hidden room with a pit. Shallan sends Pattern to retrieve Adolin. Shallan promises to wait. Adolin brings bridge four and they descend into the pit. There is a room covered in murals. The ceiling is a depiction of the ten heralds, and the walls have three figures on them. Shallan describes one of them as Almighty, or Honor, and the other two as pagan symbols. Adolin opens two locked doors with shardblade. Inside they find an old decaying library. Down a third tunnel Renarin sees the Unmade Re-Shephir. The Unmade attacks. Adolin and everyone are forced to retreat until Shallan discovers that it is afraid of Lightweavers. Shallan presses forward. With the help of the others she gets close enough to touch it with her bare safe-hand.
