Dalinar leads a group of archers to ambush the Caravan carrying the traitor. He spots men in Sadeas's uniforms and charges down the canyon towards the caravan. Right into a trap. A landslide wiped out his troops and nearly shattered his shardplate. He crawls from the rubble, the Thrill engulfing him. Only to notice it in the eyes of the soldiers surrounding him as well. He grinned.
When Dalanar regained his senses, he was smashing the head of a man repeatedly, surrounded by corpses. He was numb, his plate and blade further damaged, and realized he'd even been stabbed at some point in the chest. Yet barely remembered it at all. Near dead, the Thrill pushes him until he reaches Sadeas camp. They assumed him dead but Dalinar realizes it was all a trap from the start. The scouts who relayed that a caravan left were traitors.
