Kaladin remembers a conversation with Tukks in his early days in [[Amaram]]'s army. While scraping crem they talk about the moment that Kaladin froze on the practice field. Tukks thinks that Kaladin was afraid of getting hurt, but actually Kaladin was afraid of hurting someone else. Then Tukks gives him the advice to not worry about the battle, but to only focus on his squadmates. Tukks also tells him where in the army Tien is located. After this dressing-down the rest of the squad was more friendly towards him.
