It is to tell the backstory of [[Dalinar Kholin]] in the Flashbacks, although Brandon has repeatedly asserted that the fact that the book shows his back story doesn't guarantee that Dalinar will be alive for the events of Highprince of War.{{qa ref|689|16|Title for Dalinar-centric book|date=Nov 8th, 2011-11-8}} The book's Knights Radiant Order will likely be the Bondsmiths.

Brandon has indicated that he has finished Dalinar's flashback chapters in July 2015.
