Kimmalyn is from [[Bountiful Cavern]]. Her father was a gunner, and gave Kimmalyn training on the subject.{{book ref|Skyward|11}}
Her callsign was originally Quick, but [[Cobb]] changed it to Quirk for her personality.{{book ref|Skyward|10}}
After the battle where [[Hurl]] died, Kimmalyn quit the DDF, blaming her poor flying skills for Hurl's death.
