In [[Feruchemy]], Identity is stored in [[Aluminum]]. To effectively use Aluminum a ferchemist must have access to all the feurchemical powers. By storing his identity in aluminum and then filling another metalmind he cannotcan create an "unkeyed" metalmind that can be used by anyone. In certain cases instead of allowing anyone to tap the metalmind it would only allow people who could already use that kind of metalmind to access the power. One example is in the Bands of Mourning when Wax finds a gold bracelet filled with healing power Wayne, a gold Ferring, can access the power but Wax cannot.
As far as we know, it cannot be accessed by [[Allomancy]] or [[Hemalurgy]].
