== Associated magic == === Stormlight === {{for\|Stormlight}} [[Stormlight]] is a gaseous form of [[Investiture]] associated with Honor. It was not created by him, as a proto-version of it existed prior to his arrival on [[Roshar]], but in the present day, it has been subsumed into him.{{wob ref\|9266}} The largest [[splinter]] of Honor, [[Stormfather]], is responsible for creating and maintaining the [[highstorm]]s that bring stormlight.{{book ref\|sa2\|83}}{{wob ref\|5991}} Stormlight is crucial to Rosharan ecosystem. Numerous animals form bonds with lesser [[spren]], which most likely require stormlight as fuel. Moreover, large quantities of stormlight are necessary for [[singer]]s to change forms.{{book ref\|sa2\|i\|5}} In [[Shadesmar]], spren derive susteinance from stormlight.{{book ref\|sa1\|101}} While humans do not normally utilize stormlight themselves, its presence makes them significantly more healthy.{{wob ref\|912}} === Surgebinding === {{for\|Surgebinding}} [[Surgebinding]] is a magic system derived from both Honor and [[Cultivation]].{{wob ref\|1640}} To utilize it, a person must bond a higher spren, ~~a sentient [[splinter]] that is composed of the two Shards' Investitures in some proportion. Afterwards, this~~which allows ~~the person~~them to inhale stormlight and use it to control [[Surge]]s, a set of ten fundamental forces, although a single spren bond allows access to only two of them.{{wob ref\|7663}} Some bonds favor Honor, and others Cultivation, although the proportion, and whether there are Surges "purely" of one or the other, is still under speculation.{{wob ref\|10649}} Apart from spren bonds, Honor can also grant the use of Surgebinding through the [[Honorblades]], weapons made out of his Investiture.{{wob ref\|1572}} Like spren, each Honorblade grants access to only one pair of Surges; in fact, Surgebinding came to be through spren attempting to imitate Honorblades.{{wob ref\|7989}} === Spren === {{for\|Spren}} Spren are [[splinter]]s holding the Investitures of both Honor and Cultivation, though in different proportions depending on the type of spren. Some spren are of pure Honor or pure Cultivation, though which type gets to call themselves "closest to Honor" is a matter of some debate among their society.{{wob ref\|6454}} The most notable spren of Honor is [[Stormfather]]. Unlike most other spren, Stormfather was created by Honor intentionally; moreover, he holds Tanavast's [[Cognitive Shadow]], granting him greater access to the [[Spiritual Realm]].{{wob ref\|5991}}{{wob ref\|1671}} === Direct intervention === Honor's particular intent lends itself well to binding and forming bonds.
