Worldsingers & Worldbringers
The names of the Worldsingers, a group of storytellers on Roshar, and the Conclave of Worldbringers, the leading body of the original Terris religion, are strikingly similar. Brandon has stated that this is not a coincidence.3656 Some believe that Hoid is a common root to both of these organizations, one of which, the Worldbringers, was very Realmatically aware.1253 There may be also a connection between the Worldsingers and the Dawnsingers, due to similarity of names.

A bit of small possibility
Hoid may have possibly been the splintered god or the vessel of, Adonalsium. After the splintering, he may have lost most of his memory. The loss of his power, or the bearing of it, would have had side effects, resulting in some oddities in Hoid. In each of the books he may have been seeking a piece of investiture from each shard, trying to work up to getting all, or most of his power back. Brandon Sanderson could have invented Hoid, to build upon. A character to add on ideas and concepts to, And a plot that could still fit into every book in the archive.
