In a departure from his previous appearances, Hoid played a relatively major role on [[Roshar]].
Most often seen under the guise of ''Wit'', [[Elhokar Kholin]]'s court jester, he influenced [[Dalinar]].
He also met [[Kaladin]] and told a story about [[Derethil]] and the ''[[Wandersail]]''.
Hoid appears again later on in the book, at the end, near the time when a [[Herald]] enters the Kholin camp, spouts dying delirium, and falls dead.
