Wax was romantically involved with a female lawkeeper named [[Lessie]] out in the Roughs, but she was shot after being held hostage by the infamous criminal [[Bloody Tan]]. Unbeknownst to Wax, she was the Kandra Paalm, sent to protect Wax while he was in the Roughs. After she had removed one of her spikes, Wax shot Paalm with a Hemalurgically charged bullet, allowing Harmony to take control of her.
