The Nightstreet Gang robs a train that [[Wax]], [[Wayne]], [[Steris]], [[Marasi]], and [[MeLaan]] are riding to [[New Seran]]. The attack takes place on the train line before the town of [[Ironstand]].{{book ref|mb6|9}} The motive of this robbery is mainly financial: the target of the heist is the bank car present on the train.{{book ref|mb6|7}} However, the gang was actually hired by [[Kelesina Shores]] to attack the train in order to distract Wax from his mission.{{book ref|mb6|15}} [[Edwarn Ladrian]] was the mastermind behind this plan. {{book ref|mb6|16}}

First, they attack the entire train, not just waxWax's car.{{book ref|mb6|7}} Second, they were surprised at Wax's presence on the train, given their lack of anti-allomancer battle tactics.{{book ref|mb6|9}} Additionally, they are inexperienced at robbing trains, according to Wax. Instead of forcing the train to stop in order to board, they attack on horseback.{{book ref|mb6|7}}

The gang's resources are substantial. They use a chemical weapon in order to remove resistance from the train's bank car, and are equipped with what appear to be gas masks in order to protect themselves.{{book ref|mb6|7}} Additionally, they employ at least one metalborn: a [[Coinshot]] takes part in the heist, breaking into the armored train car and fighting Wax directly.{{book ref|mb6|7}} Despite all of this, they do not wear masks to protect their identities, another clue that they were hired by someone.{{book ref|mb6|7}}
