This theory aims to create a comprehensive model of the inter-relationship between the Essences. We do this by first analyzing the philosophical relationships between the Surges, and from there move on to the Essences that they represent (as described in my Revised Essence-Surge diagram):

Illumination and Gravitation

Illumination represents light and vitality. Gravity represents darkness and the grave.

Transformation and Tension

Transformation represents change. Tension represents resistance to change.

Transportation and Friction

Transportation represents motion. Friction represents resistance to motion.

Division and Cohesion

Cohesion represents harmony. Division represents loss of harmony.
