The True Desolation is mentioned throughout the [[The Way of Kings]], the first book of the [[Stormlight Archive]]. It appears that the True Desolation will be somehow different from the previous hundred [[Desolation\|Desolations]] that were said to have occurred. Both [[Kaladin]] and [[Dalinar Kholin]] have visions where they are warned that the True Desolation comes.
