'''Tinweight Settlement''' is a mining town on [[Scadrial]]. The settlement is located next to a mine where metal ore can be found (likely [[tin]], and possibly others). The mineworkers live in poor conditions, and deadly accidents at the mine are common.{{book ref|mb7|prologue}} The location of the settlement is unknown, but mining towns are typically found in the [[Roughs]] rather than inside the verdant [[Elendel Basin]].{{book ref|mb7|13}}
[[Wayne]] grew up in Tinweight Settlement. His family was among the poorest in town, and they lived in a one-window house very close to the mine. [[Wayne's father]] and uncle [[Gregr]] died in mining accidents, forcing [[Wayne's mother|his mother]] to take a job in the mine.
