Elend works on a proposal to the [[New Empire#Assembly|Assembly]], to prevent them from taking any actions that he feels are rash, before he can parlay with Straff Venture.
Vin watches him from the outside of his [[Keep Venture|palace]], while also keeping an eye out for threats. She senses allomantic pulses that seem to be distant, but turn out to be caused by a figure made out of mist that is standing near her on the rooftop. The mist figure vanishes when Vin uses steel to push coins at it.
