Shallan Davar islived in from [[Jah Keved]], and was a member of the [[Vorinism#Devotaries|Devotary]] of Purity. She iswas a [[Soulcaster]] and currently receivingreceived training from [[Jasnah]]. She iswas in possession of a [[Shardblade]]<ref>{{bref|WoK|c|7}} - "A long, silvery sword in her hand, sharp enough to cut stones as if they were water."</ref><ref>{{bref|WoK|c|8}} - "Ten heartbeats, to bring forth the fruit of her sin, the proceeds of her most horrific act."</ref>. She is alsowas known to have murdered her father.

Shallan iswas considered shy by her family, but when she leavesleft the family estates behind, she opensopened up and gainsgained confidence. She hashad a quick wit, and often unthinkingly uttersuttered the first thing to come to mind.

She hashad a passion for learning and a great talent for drawing, and usesused a sort of temporary photographic memory to capture moments and later depict them. She iswas never without her sketchbooks and charcoal, so she might draw whatever catchescaught her interest.

Shallan spendsspent several months chasing [[Jasnah]] across many cities, hoping to become her ward in order to steal [[Jasnah]]'s [[soulcaster]]. She finally catchescaught up to [[Jasnah]] in [[Kharbranth]], and attemptsattempted to convince her to take Shallan as her ward three times, finally succeeding on the third.

Shallan beginsbegan studying with Jasnah, and developsdeveloped a friendship with the ardent [[Kabsal]] who eventually poinsoned her while attempting to poison Jasnah.
