Amaram is a tall and imposing soldier.He has a straight posture at all times and takes care to show himself as a soldier, always wearing his uniform comfortably. He has light tan eyes.{{book ref|sa1|44}}
Amaram is also very pragmatic, going to the length of killing [[Kaladin]]'s entire spear squad and branding [[Kaladin]] a slave in order to take his [[Shardplate]] and [[Shardblade]] for himself, as he believes that they will simply be more effective in the hands of a [[lighteyes]] trained in the sword. He is fairly religious, as he believes the [[Vorin]] church should be the only authority in charge. He is willing to go to [[Everstorm|great lengths]] to install the church as a political power within [[Alethkar]] and perhaps even [[Roshar]].{{book ref|sa2|88}}
