She was a Soulcaster, an atheist and a heretic. <!--- She used a fake fabrial soulcaster in public to hide her inherent soulcasting ability. --- this is not confirmed yet though there are some threads theorizing that on the forum --->

Jasnah was publicly training Shallan Davar as her ward. <!--- and privately began teaching her Soulcasting --- at the end of TWoK she told she would teach Shallan but she didn't already do so. --->

Soulcasting
Jasnah's ability was Soulcasting. There were four occasions she showed Soulcasting.

The first was when the granddaughter of Taravangian was imprisoned behind a large chunk of rock in the depths for Taravangian's palace. He searched Jasnah out and pled her to remove the rock with Soulcasting. In return she were granted access to the Palanaeum. So she turned the rock to smoke to free the granddaughter and her attendants.

The second was the "lesson" she gave Shallan by killing the four thugs that endangered theater goers in Kharbranth.

The third was the Soulcasting of her portion of Kabsal's jam and bread while visiting Shallan in hospital.

And the fourth was Soulcasting Shallan's blood after she got poisoned from Kabsal's bread.

Atheism
Jasnah was an atheist<!--- but doesn't preclude to eventually join a devotary... I'm sure I've read this somewhere--->. When asked by Taravangian whether it's not hard for her, she replied that atheism is not a disease. Prodding at her -- thinking she had nothing to believe as an atheist -- she answered:

Veristitalianism
Veristitalians were an order of scholars. Jasnah referred to other Veristitalians as her sisters. They search the past, trying to reconstruct what truly happened, as they think of most of the historical works were influenced by their writers. If they succeeded with such matters they wanted to learn from this unaltered insights for the presence.
