After receiving advice from Rlain, Dalinar commandscommanded the Alethi troops to kill the groups of group of singers in the Parshendi rear to prevent them from finishing their song. Adolin, despite losinghaving lost his mount, [[Sureblood]], managesmanaged to accomplishdefeat thisa group of singers by ambushing the singers from behind. He was then engagesengaged in a duel with Eshonai, which endsended with them both falling down a chasm. Adolin is, however,was rescued by the bridgemen [[Skar]] and [[Leyten]], while Eshonai disappearsdisappeared. On Roion's plateau, however, the Parshendi gaingained the upper hand, and managemanaged to kill [[Teleb]], one of the Kholin [[Shardbearer]]s.

Meanwhile, Shallan suspectssuspected that a perfectly round plateau, which doesdid not fit into the pattern of the [[Shattered Plains]] iswas where the Oathgate iswas located. Together with Prince [[Renarin Kholin]], and a team of soldiers and scholars, Shallan goeswent to the plateau, and discovers that it isdiscoverd the Oathgate. As the battle continuescontinued, Adolin encountersencountered [[Szeth]], who iswas secretly sent by [[Taravangian]] to kill Dalinar. Adolin engagesengaged him in a fight. Meanwhile, Roion's forces arewere losing, but Aladar managesmanaged to defeat the Parshendi on his plateau. This iswas too late, however, as the singing Parshendi havehad managed to summon the [[Everstorm]]. The [[Stormfather]] decidesdecided to summon an unexpected Highstorm; the two storms approachapproached from different directions, set to collide above Narak.

Szeth and Adolin arrivearrived at Dalinar's position; Szethand easilySzeth defeatsdefeated Adolin,. andHe then takes onattacked Dalinar, who managesmanaged to temporarily hold him off, before getting help byfrom Roion and a group of soldiers. Szeth takestook them down, and killskilled Roion, before being attacked by Dalinar, Adolin, and a force of bridgemen. Despite the numbers, Szeth managesmanaged to lash Dalinar to the sky, which iswas supposed to kill him after the stormlight faded and he fell back to the ground. However, [[Kaladin]] arrivesarrived and savessaved Dalinar before taking on Szeth. Meanwhile, Dalinar leadsthen led the retreat of the Alethi toward the Oathgate. The armies managemanaged to escape before the storms clashclashed. Kaladin and Szeth useused [[Surgebinding]] to fight above the storms. Eventually, Kaladin defeatsdefeated Szeth, and takesrecovered thehis [[Honorblade]] he carries.
