Silence's grandparents have at least one child of unknown gender. That child has a daughter, [[Silence Montane\|Silence]].{{book ref\|sfs}} It is unknown what happens to Silence's parents, but Silence is raised by her grandparents. She was killed by [[~~shades~~shade]]s, afterwards being trapped in the waystop's shrine to the God Beyond by Silence.
