===Chapter 69: Justice===
{{epigraph|All is withdrawn for me. I stand against the one who saved my life. I protect the one who killed my promises. I raise my hand. The storm responds.}}

At Sadeas' stage area Navani took her way through the crowded people after hearing rumors that Sadeas came back from battle without Dalinar. Renarin followed her. Sadeas told Navani that the Parshendi overwhelmed Dalinar's forces, and he had to retreat for saving his own people.
Navani didn't believe Sadeas' words. Searching for justice she created a ''Thath'' glyph on the ground, burning it up. Eventually one of Sadeas' men spotted Dalinar's army approaching from the Shattered Plains. Sadeas was visibly upset but pretended to be relieved that Dalinar survived. They talked to each other for a while. Then Dalinar asked Sadeas for the costs for Bridge Four. As Sadeas blocked the possibility to give away his bridgemen, Dalinar summoned his Shardblade and offered it for trade to get all of Sadeas' bridgemen. Sadeas, eager to finally get a Shardblade, made this deal.
Later on this day Dalinar went to confront Elhokar that he cut his saddle girth himself thereby bringing suspicion on Dalinar what could have ended bad. He also told Elhokar about what happened on the battlefield when Sadeas betrayed Dalinar. Then Dalinar forced Elhokar to proclaim him as Highprince of War.
