When Adolin and Kaldin, the latter serving as the former's bodyguard, arrived to meet with Shallan at Sebarial's warcamp, Shallan is excited to see that [[Wit]] was their carriage driver. Shallan reveals that she had a past relationship with Wit as the court jester comforted her when she was a child. As Wit quickly disappears, the Shallan and Adolin decide to go visit the local menagerie. As the [[Parshendi]] arrived to battle the Alethi, Shallan was asked to leave with the other civilians. Shallan proclaimed that the Oathgates were real and JAsnah believed so do.
