▲The story starts with Jak waking up in a cave, out of metals. He then escapes the cave by way of the water after licking an aluminum deposit on the wall of the cave. He then encounters Koloss who want to make him their leader and a Koloss. He discovers that his girlfriend is Koloss blooded. He does not want to become a Koloss, so he says that he is already a Koloss and will prove it by getting the Survivor's treasure from the bottom of a lake that has it. He dives down, and finds a chest, and takes it out. It contains a lot of Aluminum, and he leaves the Koloss. [1]
This story is inspired by an idea of [[Brandon Sanderson|Brandon's]] brother Jordan, who wanted to do a radio drama, scripted by Brandon. The character Jak is meant to be in contrast to the more genuine, serious character of [[Waxillium Ladrian|Wax]], like the Adam West [[Wikipedia:Batman (TV series)|Batman]] versus the current Batman. Unlike [[The Eleventh Metal]], this story is meant for established readers of the [[Mistborn series]], revealing how Koloss are made in the post-[[Catacendre]] era.

It was originally published with the [[Mistborn Adventure Game]]'s extension [[Alloy of Law (rule book)|''Alloy of Law'']]. The short story is described as parts 28-30, although it's meant to be read on its own. The first 27 parts weren't published, except for one small unnumbered piece in The Elendel Daily Broadsheet{{file ref|Elendel Daily broadsheet.png|''The Elendel Daily'' Broadsheet}} that was included in the novel ''[[The Alloy of Law]]''. Later books in the Mistborn series include broadsheets that have other unrelated references to Jak.
It was later released in part on Sanderson's website.{{bws ref|allomancer-jak-and-the-pits-of-eltania|Allomancer Jak|date=2014-08-07}} It was also included in ''[[Arcanum Unbounded]]''.
