His daughter, [[Sophi Tarcsel]], claimed that he spent years perfecting the incandescent lightbulb and that his work was stolen by other inventors and scientists, including Professor [[Hanlanaze]]. He died unknown, depressed and destitute. Sophi, who became an inventor herself, did her best to posthumously get him the recognition he deserved.
