;Plot Summary
Skyward Flight continues to dogfight against Quelian’s ships, occasionally using the taynix to escape light-nets. Because of the overwhelming enemy force, Alanik comes up with the idea to retreat to [[Wandering Leaf]], a floating platform with automatic turrets. They plan to use the taynix to teleport underneath its gun turrets. Kimmalyn finds a hangar inside Wandering Leaf, and Quilan attacks Alanik using mindblades. Alanik tries to hyperjump to Wandering Leaf but Quilan hits her with a concussion bolt. She misses her target, then jumps again. Again, doesn’t make the jump properly and her ships begins to dive towards the surface of the platform, out of her control.

;Plot Summary
Alanik tries to eject from her ship, but can’t find the eject lever. Jorgen uses his abilities to send her an image of where the lever is, and Alanik successfully ejects. She lands on the platform, then makes her way to the hangar where the rest of Skyward Flight waits. Alanik meets with the Independence pilots, including her brother Gilaf, and explains the situation and the alliance with the humans. Alanik assures the others that Quilan and his men won’t be able to reach them inside Wandering Leaf. Jorgen tunes his radio to a broadcast from Nanalis to the people of ReDawn. Rinakin’s voice comes onto the broadcast, allying himself and Independence with Unity. He ends the broadcast by telling Alanik to turn herself in.

;Plot Summary

;Plot Summary
Alanik and the others discuss the broadcast, Alanik and the Independcne pilots arguing that Unity forced Rinakin to publicly agree with them, while several memebers of Skyward Flight were dubious. The humans and Independence pilots introduced themselves, and Skyward Flight discuss the nature of their desertion and what punishments they will face when they eventually return to Detritus. They explore the platform, and explore the Superiority transport. Inside they find a green and blue taynix in a taynix box, which is clearly a inhibitor taynix. Afterward, Alanik answered several questions from the others about the UrDail and their massive trees, and Arturo approached her privately. He asked her if they could trust her and if she’d betray them, and Alanik assured him that she had no intention of betraying them.
