Hoid is a mysterious worldhopper who has been alive since before the Shattering of Adonalsium and was present for that event.5077 He has collected a variety of Invested items from around the cosmere and gained access to multiple Invested Arts.5077Hoid#Abilities His objectives are rather unclear, though he can use Fortune to know the right place and the right time to be.2567 He is an adamant opponent of Odium's attempts to become the sole god of the cosmere, and has written to Frost, Endowment, Autonomy, and Harmony, hoping to enlist their help in dealing with Odium, but to no avail.Letters
Hoid was deeply concerned about Odium's involvement on Sel, and thought that his war would lead to devastate the whole cosmere.sa1 He sent a lettersa14130 to a person (possibly a dragonsa1) to call off his "friends of the Seventeenth Shard" and join Hoid.sa1 The recipient of Hoid's original letter did not see things as Hoid, and said that the reason these events have occurred is because of their involvement.sa2 As such, he advocated nonintervention,sa2 where Hoid meddled a great deal, on all main worlds.

Worldhopping Groups
The Seventeenth Shard<br>
The Seventeenth Shard are a group of worldhoppers moving between planets using various magics, and are perhaps led by the RecipientFrost.sa1 Their members are from many worlds,9905 including Scadrial, Taldain, and Sel. They searched for Hoid on Roshar shortly before the Everstorm was summoned.sa1 They may also be nonintervenionists, due to their possible relationship with the Recipient.sa1

However, there is an end goal of the Seventeenth Shard.4439 In the immediate future, they fear Hoid's purpose will not align with theirs, and so they hunt him down.7910

Silverlight<br>
There is also Khriss, a worldhopper who is the most knowledgeable person in the cosmere, by far.5623 She writes all the Ars Arcanums.6873 She has an employee, Nazh, who, among other things, draws and annotates maps, and collects other things for Khriss.5341 Their motivations--and exact relationship with the Seventeenth Shard--are not clear.

The Ire<br>
The Ire are a group of worldhopping Elantrians.

The Ghostbloods<br>
The Ghostbloods are a secret society on Roshar.
