[[Kaladin]] chooseschose her as his mount when he iswas learning to ride a horse. Spray iswas docile but somewhat stubborn, and she iswas unwilling to go faster despite Kaladin's urging. [[Adolin Kholin]] iswas riding his [[Ryshadium]] [[Sureblood]] nearby and lightly mocksmocked Kaladin, remarking that Spray was fast in her youth, but iswas at least fifteen years old and iswas best suited to children.{{book ref|sa2|25}}

Kaladin thinksdecided that he needsneeded to try to ride a faster horse, and dismountsdismounted Spray in favor of [[Dreamstorm]], despite [[Jenet]]'s warnings against doing so. He iswas bucked off of Dreamstorm, and he returnsreturned to Spray.{{book ref|sa2|25}}
