Several beasts of burden on Taldain share features with sandlings. [[Tonk]]s are known to bury themselves in the sand,{{book ref|ws|4|review=yes}} and [[terha]] are treated with a special liquid from birth to avoid water damage to their shell.{{book ref|ws|9|review=yes}} Both animals have horns and carapace, although their appearance is much less extreme than deep sandlings.
