'''Restares''' was an antagonist of unknown allegiance on [[Roshar]].
 
He was suspected by [[Gavilar]] of planning his assassination.{{ref|b|twok|prologue}} He is also likely the person who came up with the plan to have [[Kaladin]]'s squad murdered and Kaladin branded as a slave, as indicated by [[Amaram]] {{ref|b|sa1|c|51}}.
 
He seems to have a Position with in [[Amaram]]'s close staff, because he advised the highmarshal to take the Shards that Kaladin had won, for himself, since Amaram is trained in the sword and accustomed to plate. Also get rid of any witnesses, which let to the deaths of [[Hab]], [[Reesh]], [[Alabet]], and [[Coreb]], the last surviving members of Kaladin’s squad. and Kaladins own enslavement.{{ref|b|sa1|c|51}}.
