TLM Chapter 4 Marasi refers to the bands as belonging to the Lord Ruler, and him dying when he lost them/they got separated from his body. This sounds like a great example of in-world conflating of the facts as the mythos and the years increase. A note to this regard somewhere in this article (or a different one) would be helpful.
