Wyndle is a spren who is bonded to Lift on Roshar.[1]

Appearance & Personality

Wyndle usually takes the form of a vine that grows rapidly and follows Lift. This vine appears to be speckled with smooth flecks of quartz, but it does not glow with Stormlight. Wyndle can form a sort of face by curling vines around one another. After a time, the vine trail he leaves behind solidifies, becoming like crystal before crumbling into dust. Wyndle is invisible and inaudible to all but Lift.

Wyndle seems to be quite proper and intelligent. He is a cautious spren, and often worries about Lift's strange behavior, particularly about her breaking in to places just to steal food. Wyndle gets annoyed with Lift when she frequently calls him a "little Voidbringer," and it is not clear whether she is joking.

He has also taken the appearance of a metal rod[2] and a shardfork.[3]

History

Wyndle was a gardener until the Ring chose him to bond with Lift.[4] He gardened chairs, including ones called Shober, Winstel and some spoonbacks.

He assisted Lift with chasing Nale through Yeddaw, particularly when she was trying to figure out who the other surgebinder in the city was by spying on the Skybreakers [5]. He was able to sneak into the room they were in to overhear parts of their conversations unseen.[5]
