Welcome![edit]

Hey there Kynan, thank you so much for your epic work on the Kholin's pages :D They are excellent. Joe ST 13:05, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

A few points to help you edit better:
  • because the Cosmere books are all in the same universe, it has been decided that the articles should be written in the past tense
  • you only need to link the first instance of something on a page
  • it's ok to only use the first name of the character when referring to someone already mentioned on that page (especially the subject of the article)
  • a personal opinion, but we(I) prefer having each sentence on a new line, it makes the diff prettier too :D
  • another minor thing, it's much better if you refrain from using curly quotes and apostrophes, stick with the plain " and ' characters.
  • links to character articles should probably not include honorifics (eg [[Highprince Sadeas]] should be Highprince [[Sadeas]]) and links should be singular ([[Highprince]]s instead of [[Highprinces]])
Thanks again for the amazing articles, these aren't criticisms, just things that are likely to mean we need to edit your input :) Joe ST 14:01, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
@Joe ST Thanks for the feedback. I've never edited a wiki before so it is interesting to learn the correct way of doing things. I shall endeavour to do better next time!
I have attempted to fix the "Dalinar Kholin" page. Please give some feedback so I know if I am on the right track. Note: Even though some of the links are written like "Shardplates" the whole word still comes up in blue. Damn it see what I mean? (You will if you go into the edit thing)
hey there Kynan. For a first timer, you're doing awesomely :D and indeed, it seems that shardplates redirects you to shardplate, but it's not always the case, and that redirect may be deleted since it's bad policy. Joe ST 05:45, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
I meant that I put the 's' outside of the bracket, yet the whole word still shows up blue. And I know which chapters the quotes come from on the Elhokar page but am unsure on how to edit the references section at the bottom of the page. Cheers
Oh, well if you add characters that touch the brackets, they automatically get added into the link like Vinegar for example XD. And to edit the references, search for <ref> tags in the article Joe ST 18:30, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you mean there. It just says "references /" in bracket things and I don't know how to edit that.

I worked it out in the end. So I presume that any and all quotes should be referenced?
pretty much, and any other questionable/arcane facts. As much as possible really :D Joe ST 19:12, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
