Here are my favorite speculations that are yet to be confirmed/debunked:

Cosmere

• The Essences have a cosmere-wide significance. Each Essence represents something about the nature of Investiture and the Realms.

Scadrial

• Rashek used Ettmetal to help Southerners survive.
• Unsealed metalminds involve Feruchemically inserting a Hemalurgic charge in a nicrosilmind.
• Aside from the heart, there is another body part (or group of body parts) that maps onto other parts of the Spiritweb, like in acupuncture "microsystems".
• Southern medallions that grant two or more powers work due to harnessing the Religious Connection of Southern metalborn (who are worshiped as gods) to counteract soul interference.

Nalthis

• When Lifeless is created with Perfect Invocation, it creates Lifeless with a stronger connection to the Cognitive Realm and thus can be Commanded to transform themselves. This is how Kalad's Phantoms were created.
• Giving all one's Breath away with Perfect Invocation will sever one's ties to the Physical Realm, transporting him to the Cognitive Realm.
• Using a piece of metal as a color source for Awakening imbues the metal with the pattern of the Command, allowing another person to use that piece of metal as a sort of Awakening wand that, when coupled "My life to yours; my Breath become yours" allows that person to use the Command even if he doesn't have enough Breath.

Roshar

• The Surges assigned to each Herald/Order can be derived from the relationship between Divine Attributes. Similarly, each Void can be derived from an imbalance between Attributes.
• Each Essence has a pair of Surges that naturally matches its nature, but these Surge pairs differ from the actual Surge pairs assigned to the Heralds and Radiants.
• Lift will learn to use all ten Surges.
