This template is used on files to add source information.

It supports the following parameters, of which artist and source:

Parameter X Description Examples
Required
artist
This parameter should link to the artist's Coppermind page.

|artist=Isaac Stewart
|artist=User: Botanicaxu
|artist=Sheep

Required
source
This parameter should link to a publicly viewable webpage where the image can be found, preferably the artist's website or social media. If the file is a cropped/traced version of another piece of art already on the coppermind, that file can be the source:

|source=Dan dos Santos' Website
|source=:File: Roshar.png

tracer When the image is a traced vector graphic this parameter should link to the tracer's Coppermind user page. |tracer=:User:WeiryWriter
series The value here is passed to the series tag template, which means it must be one of the valid values for that template. This will add a link to the series page and include the file in the series category. |series=Stormlight
book The value here is passed to the book tag template, which passes it to b and means it should be one of the valid values for that template. This will add a link to the book page and include the file in the series category. This argument is mostly used on interior art from the book in question, or for books which aren't part of a series. |book=sotd
type This parameter can be used to assign a category tag to the art piece. See the #Type Tags section below for more details and examples |type=Art

Type Tags[edit]

The type parameter provides a row for tags which categorise the file in different ways:

 • character images is placed on any image depicting a character
 • interior art is used to indicate when a file is from inside one of the published books
 • art is used on artist depictions of scenes and other more complex images
 • maps categorize any cartographic images
 • symbols & diagrams indicate the obvious
 • chapter icons collect all the images used in books with icons in the chapter headings

It also allows for any other kind of tagging for images when it makes sense
