Ashyn History

Like the rest of the Rosharan System Ashyn was designed by Adonalsium.

It did not originally have an illness based magic system. The civilisation on Ashyn managed to gain access to magic forbidden on Roshar, this magic included the surges.

The Heralds were born on Ashyn. The use of Surgebinding was not controlled and this lead to the destruction of the planet.

Due to the destruction its civilisation would attempt to flee. Eventually they reached Roasher as refugees and were accepted by the local populace.

Planet inhabited by humans.

The memory of Ashyn would effect Rosharn mythology. It is remembered as the Tranquiline Halls. Some on Ashyn also are aware of Roshar's existence.

Patches of civilisation remained on Ashyn despite the devastation. The surviving cities took to the skys as floating cities. It's magic system in modern times is based off illness, however this was not always it's magic system. The disease based magic works off a symbiotic relationship between investiture and bacteria. One such disease allows the infected to make landmasses float, these are how Ashyn achieves it's famous floating cities.
