Ty
Abilities Radiant squire for Order of Skybreakers
Groups Skybreaker squire
Residence Marabethia
Homeworld Roshar

Ty is a squire of the Knights Radiant on Roshar and a member of the Order of Skybreakers.[1]

Appearance and Personality

Ty is one of the older Skybreaker squires.[1] Szeth is able to immediately identify him as the leader of a small group of squires.[1] He is competitive and strategic.[1]

History

As a Skybreaker squire, he is in training at the Skybreaker fortress in Marabethia.[2]

He is among a group of twenty-one squires that participate in a martial competence test over the Purelake, testing their ability with Basic Lashings. The squires have to throw bags of colored powder at each other and avoid getting hit by bags, which leave colored marks on their white clothing. During the test, Ty leads a group of four squires that attacks other individuals as a team, minimizing the return fire. They notice that Szeth is winning the contest and focus their attention on him. Szeth is able to hold his own against the group, even hitting Ty in the face with a bag. However, Szeth runs out of Stormlight and is pelted with bags, landing in the Purelake just before the test ends. Ty finishes with only five hits against him, and is shocked when the masters agree that Szeth won via a loophole; he was cleansed of color by swimming in the lake.[1]

Attributes and Abilities

As a Skybreaker squire of the Second Ideal, Ty has access to the Surge of Gravitation.[2] He is skilled with Basic Lashings, as he and his team are able to fly in formation and pursue Szeth effectively.[1] He likely would have won the contest at the Purelake had it not been for Szeth's presence.[1]

He is presumably a squire to either Ki or Warren, as they were the only two Skybreaker masters present at the contest.[1]
